Software apps and online services
Our project is a prototype for giving directions to people without devices (or dead smartphones), and tourists.
Exploring a city can be a bit daunting without a map. One may ask locals for directions, but they might not be precise or they may speak a different language. While smartphones today are readily available with GPS capabilities, their remaining charge is usually rationed for other uses. But with the help of Wanago, people from all walks of life can easily go to key locations within a city. The Wanago includes locales such as malls and casinos. In an effort to create a machine that serves the public, the Wanago can also assist the homeless by giving them directions to nearby shelters.
The set of destinations in Wanago are customizable so that it only contains pertinent locales. It could also be expanded to have multilingual capabilities to help tourists find important places such as restaurants or police stations in their native language.
