Radar is a platform(web application, mobile app) used to track highly infectious diseases, in this case Covid 19, and inform and protect people from contracting and transmitting them to others. Most African countries' health systems lack the capacity (doctors, medical supplies, hospital beds) to effectively deal with the pandemic. Testing kits are too expensive and therefore difficult to carry out mass testing of people. The best option is to carry out massive prevention and control. The app has a self evaluation tool on all platforms for one to assess their health as shown below.
Users can also view areas where Covid 19 cases have been reported and even get notified if they may have crossed paths with an infected person. A user can enter information (their phone number, age gender and health condition) and we ensure anonymity to safeguard their privacy. Hence an infected person can help in contact tracing while maintaining their privacy.
It can also be used by health workers to gather data on the infection cases, number of recoveries and deaths to inform their testing and treatment activities.
